Welch ChemStar Dry Pump
The ChemStar Dry Pump was designed to help eliminate messy oil maintenance. It can also alleviate the threat of oil contamination in your sample (something you definitely want to avoid) while reducing the need for cold trapping in many applications. This dry pump can handle high chemical vapor loads, and ChemStar Pumps excel where other pumps often fail. At Lab Society, we consider this to be the first practical alternative to an oil rotary vacuum pump.
The ChemStar Dry Pump regulates high vapor flow automatically (to 150L/min.) at working vacuum levels down to (0.08 to 10 torr). The max vacuum that can be achieved is 0.05 torr while maintaining chemical resistance. The unit’s smart control system will coordinate the vacuum blower or PTFE diaphragm pump operation to react to varying vapor loads quickly and efficiently.
The dry pump unit employs a self-cleaning mechanism, which purges air and removes condensable vapors. Cleaning is carried out between runs to allow for a more consistent vacuum pull. In addition, this process will extended the life of the dry pump’s diaphragm. Some uses for this pump are: freeze dryers, vacuum ovens, drying manifolds and various other deep vacuum applications including our short path kits.
Reduced dry pump maintenance.
Critical components of the unit are corrosion resistant, and the lower friction and reduced operational speed of this model correspond to reduced maintenance. You can greatly reduce the effort and time involved in maintaining an oil-seal pump through the use of this dry pump, leaving you more time to focus on what’s most important to your lab.
Choosing the right pump for your lab is an important decision, and one not to be taken lightly! That’s why we have sales and support staff standing by during business hours to help guide you to the products that are right for you. We have many years of experience in the business, and we’d be happy to explain the pros and cons of different systems to you.
