Spray Dryers

Spray Dryers are designed to produce dry powders from a liquid slurry by utilizing a hot gas. They are extremely important in creating water-soluble end products for formulation purposes.

Spray Dryers have an internal spray nozzle to disperse the liquid slurry at a controlled rate. Hot gas (usually nitrogen) is fed into the dryer, which forces the liquid solvent to vaporize, thus separating the solute from the solution while instantly turning it into a solid. Spray dryers are highly effective for drying compared to other methods.
